New York fashion photographer Dick Avery (Fred Astaire) discovers Jo Stockton (Audrey Hepburn). He sees her potential as a successful model. The two travel to France to capture iconic Parisian fashion shots. They develop feelings for each other but soon encounter obstacles that threaten their budding romance.
