Household guides

Download our 'Household waste and recycling guide' for tips about recycling and reducing household waste, and use our A-Z guide to find the best way to dispose of unwanted items and easily identify what can be recycled or recovered:

Putting out your bins

  • Make sure your garbage bin is put out on the kerb the night before collection is due. Bins must be at least 50cm from other bins, parked cars, trees, power poles and street signs.
  • Do not overfill the bins, and make sure the lid is properly closed and the contents are not over 40kg.

On public holidays

  • Garbage collection remains the same, even on public holidays.

Missed garbage collection

  • Bins placed on the kerbside after the truck has serviced the street will not be collected.
  • If your bins have been missed for other reasons, call Council's contractor Cleanaway on:
    • T: 4445 7901.
