NAIDOC Week

Celebrate NAIDOC Week, Sunday 7 July to Sunday 14 July 2024.

Each year NAIDOC Week festivities are held across Australia to recognise and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The theme for 2024 is 'Keep the fire burning! Blak, loud and proud' representing the enduring strength and vitality of Indigenous cultures.

What's on in Eurobodalla for NAIDOC Week 2024

NAIDOC Week is celebrated by all Australians and is a great opportunity to learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

NAIDOC Week activity grant recipients

Successful applicants of Council's NAIDOC Week 2024 grants will deliver some inspiring, creative projects to also help celebrate a memorable NAIDOC Week.

Each year Council offers NAIDOC Week activity grants up to $500 to assist in the delivery of activities celebrating NAIDOC in Eurobodalla.

The 2024 grants were awarded to:

  1. Narooma Public School P & C to revive the school's bush tucker garden
  2. Batemans Bay High School to support a cultural Mini Olympics day with Elders
  3. Narooma High School for a week of cultural activities
  4. Narooma Public School for an excursion to Baranguba
  5. Sunshine Bay Public School for NAIDOC week activities with community
  6. Mogo Public School for school NAIDOC Week celebrations
  7. Moruya Public School for morning tea and cultural activities at Riverside Park
  8. Central Tilba Public School for Welcome to Country signage and cultural activities
  9. Headspace Batemans Bay for art and yarning circle for youth.
