Thursday 4 July 2024

6pm - 7pm

Where: Broulee Public School Hall, Cambridge Crescent, Broulee

Cost: Free

Come along and hear about the vulnerable Glossy Black-Cockatoo found in Eurobodalla.

A local glossy-black cockatoo expert and a bird citizen scientist will teach you:

  • some interesting facts about these beautiful creatures
  • where sightings of this species are occurring in Eurobodalla and how to identify them
  • what you can do to help ensure these birds continue to live in our community.

Glossy Black-Cockatoos are one of the most threatened cockatoo species in Australia and are currently in their breeding season. These birds also:

  • can chew up to 580 she-oak cones per day
  • lay only 1 egg every 2 years
  • heavily rely on tree hollows as nesting habitat.
