Fergus Thomson OAM Heritage Award

The Fergus Thomson OAM Heritage Award recognises individuals, groups or organisations who have made an outstanding contribution to the community’s appreciation and awareness of the rich heritage of the Eurobodalla Shire in the last two years.

The $1,500 award honours former shire mayor, the late Fergus Thomson OAM, who had a strong commitment to the preservation of the cultural heritage of the region.

Nominations are now open

We are calling for nominations for the Fergus Thomson OAM Heritage Award. Nominations close on Friday 9 August 2024, 2pm.

Eligible individuals, groups or projects for the award could be:

  • Aboriginal heritage project
  • the restoration of a building or site
  • a recent history/heritage publication or multimedia presentation
  • a heritage event
  • a person or group who has made a significant contribution to Eurobodalla’s heritage
  • action leading to the preservation, or greater understanding of, a heritage place or item
  • a tourism related heritage project.

The important element is the contribution to our awareness and knowledge of the Eurobodalla's heritage.
