Funding sources
When the new Marine Infrastructure Strategy is adopted we will use it to support grant applications to fund projects.
The NSW Government has been a primary source of funding for Eurobodalla’s marine facility improvements via the NSW Boating Now and Recreational Fishing Trust Grants funding programs. Many of these funding opportunities require matched funding from Council.
NSW Boating Now typically fund Council projects such as new or improved boat ramps, pontoons, jetties and boat trailer parking.
Recreational Fishing Trusts grants fund small-scale projects such as fishing platforms, fish cleaning tables, safety infrastructure and improving fishing access.
The Recreational Fishing Trusts grants program has also subsidised various NSW government agencies for fishing related projects such as education, habitat rehabilitation and protection, research and law enforcement.
Rescuing our Waterways grants funding to improve access to waterways via dredging, navigational aids, boat ramps and wharves.
We expect the NSW Government to formulate new programs which will be the primary source of funding for the outcomes identified in our new strategy.
We continue to advocate to obtain a higher level of funding to help ratepayers support the cost of marine infrastructure maintenance and upgrades.
