Description of goods/services/consultancy: Completion of design and construction for Batemans Bay Regional Aquatic, Arts and Leisure Centre.

Tendered amount (Incl GST): $62,022,249.71

Provision for variation to the amount: This contract may be subject to variation, the details of which will be declared if and when any variation occurs.

No rise or fall adjustments are applicable to the contract.

Original tender amount $58,082,810.00 (Incl GST)

  • Variation 1: Removal of asbestos contaminated materials, for the approximate value of $1,700,000.00 (Incl GST)
  • Variation 2:  Additional solar PV panels, for the approximate value of $76,000.00 (Incl GST)
  • Variation 3: Design improvements including the theatre, shade sails above the splashpad, directional / operational signage and improved security and the resolution of operational issues in consultation between Council and the operator, for the approximate value of $1,300,000.00 (Incl GST)
  • Variation 4: Contractor variations including additional statuary authority requirements, substitution of material (Equitone in lieu of Barestone) due to agreed type being unavailable and implementation of design changes during the finalisation of design during the project, for the approximate value of $900,000.00 (Incl GST)

Provisions for renegotiation: Variations as per standard GC21 contract provisions.

Method of tender: Two-stage tender process, Expression of Interest followed by a select tender.

Criteria of tender evaluation:

  • Non price criteria:
    • Project personnel proposed and their competencies (weighting 15%)
    • The method proposed for the project including program (weighting 15%)
  • Price criteria:
    • Lump Sum Tender Price (weighting 70%).
