We are finalising the design for the new roundabout and obtaining approvals from relevant government departments.

Project details

We are working to:

  • design and build a four-leg roundabout on the Princes Highway to provide access to future housing developments in Moruya, the new Eurobodalla Emergency Services Precinct, and the Moruya TAFE campus
  • construct islands and paths within the roundabout to assist pedestrians and cyclists crossing the road
  • relocate underground services
  • install lighting at the intersection.

Benefits to the community:

  • safe access to key developments in the area
  • improved road safety for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians
  • improved traffic flow.

We have prepared a draft plan for the roundabout.

Background and purpose

The Moruya housing infrastructure project has been underway since April 2023, providing critical infrastructure to support the development of around 1,000 homes in areas already zoned residential in Moruya.

As part of this project, Council’s traffic report confirmed that a roundabout would be required on the Princes Highway to enable safe and efficient access to the South Moruya development area and the Eurobodalla Emergency Services Precinct. The analysis showed that the proposed roundabout would perform optimally under traffic now and into the future.
