Council's reply
Thank you for your presentation to the Public Access session of Council on 5 March 2024 regarding overland water flow/stormwater runoff onto your property.
I understand that you met with Council’s Development Assessment Planner on 26 October 2023 and subsequent to this meeting discussions were held between Council and the developer in an attempt to alleviate your concerns. To this end, the developer constructed a retaining wall under your front fence to prevent sediment from the Council reserve spilling onto your land. Further works were also undertaken by the developer on the Council reserve, to also alleviate stormwater runoff and sediment creep onto your property/driveway.
Following a site inspection on 27 February 2024, Council’s Public and Environmental Health Coordinator rang you on 4 March 2024 to discuss your concerns. Council’s Public and Environmental Health Coordinator confirmed that the overland water flow stems from the grassed nature strip area (Council reserve) on your street frontage and there was little else that Council could assist you with.
Both Council and the developer have invested in reducing the impact from stormwater flow onto your property and as this flow is following the natural contours of the land, it is considered that there is nothing further that can be achieved.
