Councillor Catch Up - Narooma wrap up

Published: 26 April 2024

As Naroomans bustled about their business, Mayor Mathew Hatcher and Deputy Mayor Alison Worthington set up shop in Narooma Plaza for April's Councillor Catchup. Despite all the surrounding activity, it was our quietest Catch Up yet, with just two people approaching councillors.

One keen mountain biker proposed extending the town's shared pathways, south from town to Discovery Parks caravan park, and also west and north to take in the remaining section of  Mort Avenue and up the highway to Narooma Trails.

While Council has no jurisdiction over highways, Cr Worthington said she was certainly keen on extending mountain biking opportunities in the region, working with existing groups and individuals to find ways to increase access.

Mayor Hatcher was asked to look into a block of land near Clark Street that requires a tidy up, committing to find out its ownership and if Council can include maintenance there in the work schedule.

Corner your councillor at the next Catch Up at Broulee on Wednesday 15 May from 10.30am to 12.30pm.  Find the list of upcoming Catch Ups and summaries of previous ones on our Councillor Catch Up page.
