Get tickets to the Mayor's Charity Ball in November

Published: 10 October 2024

Mayor Mathew Hatcher invites the community to celebrate all things Eurobodalla on Friday 1 November, at Moruya Golf Club.

Eurobodalla’s 2024 Local Hero will be announced, and all proceeds from the night will go to the Mayor’s chosen charity this year, The Family Place Moruya.

“This is one of my favourite events of the year where we all get together to celebrate the people that make our community so wonderful,” Mayor Hatcher said.

Mayor Hatcher said the charity ball will raise funds for families facing challenges in the community.

“The Family Place is a great organisation that has been around for 30 years supporting people who are experiencing homelessness - which is an issue I am passionate about.

“Each year, I will continue the theme of these charity balls to assist those in need.”

Tickets are on sale for $120 which includes drinks on arrival, a three-course meal and a boogie to DJ Matt Brown. Twenty dollars from each ticket sold will be donated directly to The Family Place Moruya.

“We’re pumped to have 2EC and PowerFM on board as our media partner again this year. They will help us get the word out because the more funds we raise, the more The Family Place and the people they support will benefit,” Mayor Hatcher said.

A highlight of the night will be the announcement of the Eurobodalla 2024 Local Hero Award. Mayor Hatcher welcomed 2023 winner David Oliphant back to return as a judge this year.

“We’ve got a strong field of nominations already, but more are always welcome,” Mayor Hatcher said.

Council’s website has details on how to nominate a Local Hero. Nominations close this Friday 11 October.
