The previous SES facility at Batemans Bay was destroyed by bushfire on 31 December 2019. Eurobodalla Council obtained insurance and grant funding to assist construction of a new facility at 311 George Bass Drive, Surf Beach, near the intersection with Tallgums Way and adjacent to NSW Ambulance. The NSW Rural Fire Service intends to fund and provide their own facility at the same site.

Eurobodalla Council has drafted an agreement covering the provision of funds for the SES building and the different responsibilities of the RFS and SES in delivering the facilities, and this agreement is being negotiated.

The SES and RFS have engaged NSW Public Works to manage delivery of the facilities.
