Election postponed, meetings go on

Published: 27 July 2021

Eurobodalla Council has brought forward its council meeting schedule to align with the new date for the NSW Local Government elections on Saturday 4 December.

The NSW Government announced on Saturday it was once again postponing the elections due to risks associated with COVID-19, this time for a further three months.

Eurobodalla Council was originally scheduled to have its final meeting today, Tuesday 27 July. The Council will now continue to hold meetings until the new caretaker period begins on Friday 5 November. Meetings will now be held Tuesday 24 August, 28 September, 12 October and 26 October, from 11am.

Public access sessions will be held Tuesday 17 August, Tuesday 21 September and Tuesday 5 October.

Council meetings and public forum will continue in the Council Chambers, however public attendance is severely limited in accordance with NSW Government COVID guidelines.

To avoid disappointment, anyone wishing to attend in person should register beforehand to Council’s executive services on 4474 1358.

Public access sessions are conducted via Zoom.

Council meetings will continue to be streamed live on Council’s website.

Non-resident ratepayers now have until Monday 25 October to enroll to vote in the election, while nominations for candidates will now open Tuesday 26 October. More information is on the NSW Electoral Commission’s website.
