New audit and risk committee welcomed

Published: 11 December 2024

Welcome to the three members of our Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC): Grant Doran, Nick Derera and Jodi Keast.

The committee held its first meeting on Wednesday 27 November, kicking off its role in supporting Council’s governance and accountability.

A comprehensive recruitment process was carried out to comply with the new OLG Guidelines that came into effect on 1 July 2024.

Every Council has an ARIC. In a nutshell, they provide independent oversight, ensuring Councils stay accountable, stick to the rules and use public funds wisely. They review projects, ask questions, and express opinions. Each member brings their own set of skills, ensuring a diverse range of qualifications. Read more about the committee on our web page.
